Abstract

This article describes the LLAMD Euro-Project (London, Lyon, Amsterdam, Munich and Dublin). This is a single project involving 5 major cities, and it encompasses linked field trials in a coordinated research program. The trials include the London APPLE (Advanced Pilot Project for London and Europe). This concentrates on developing links between route guidance and traffic control. It also includes DEDALE, Symphonie, and Celtic, all at Lyon. The Amsterdam route guidance project WEGWIJS is also briefly described. The Munich systems include COMFORT (COoperative Management For urban and Regional Transport), the Public Transport Data Centre (PTDC), and a Park and Ride Information system. The Dublin system (DUBSAFE) is an accident recording system.
