Abstract

This paper describes the objectives of the PLEIADES project. Details of the TTI area architecture are also presented, as are the main functions of the system. In the PLEIADES project, the Travel and Traffic Information area deals specifically with data exchange between traffic information centres and the testing of new methods for disseminating real information to the driver. The main results during the field trials are expected to be positive both on the driver in terms of quantity and quality of information, and on the information providers, who will be able to make their methods of operation more efficient.
