Traffic is an ancient problem that has been important whenever men for goods have moved from one place to another. But man's understanding of traffic phenomena is still limited. How do driver-vehicle units influence each other ? What factors are most important in the quest for maximum traffic flow ? Physicists at General motors research laboratories are looking for answers to questions like these.
