Abstract

This paper concentrates on the development of a video sensing system and its combination with an electric power steering (EPS) system to provide lane support functionality. The purpose of the system is to reduce the likelihood of the vehicle making unintended lane departures and to reduce the driver's workload in lane keeping. The lane guide system is described in detail along with the control strategies explored.
