Abstract

The problem of excavating in fine sand, within 25 feet of church footings, was solved by ground-freezing, rather than by using sheet piling or underpinnings in Minneapolis. Methods and problems of application are discussed. Cost is estimated at $ 10, 000 less than underpinning.
