Abstract

Motor traffic brings many polluting substances, especially carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxides, aldehydes, ketones, organic acids, ammonia and solid aerosols into the atmospheres. The more than two million passenger cars in the Netherlands, are the chief contributing source of air pollution by traffic. Measures have been proposed to limit this form of air pollution.
