Abstract

The coefficient of retroreflected luminance of the retroreflective sheeting Diamond Grade 3990 VIP was measured in the wheather conditions "dry", "wet", and "dew", as simulated in the laboratory. Retroreflected luminance-values were used to calculate the legibility distances of motorway guide signs and the luminances of traffic signs in built-up areas (shoulder mount).
