Abstract
This paper describes vehicle design factors and testsaf'fecting driver vision. Forward and rear vision designconstderatAons are discussed along with test facilities andtechniques used in determining how much the design of thevehicle aids or binders driver vision. Design examples andfuture rear vision considerations are given; and test pro-l cedures for determining rearview systems' fields of view,obstruction to vision caused by body architecture, andseeing distances are described.
