An analysis is given of the list of measures by the Ministry of Traffic and Waterstaat for decreasing the energy use in traffic and transport. The decrease of direct energy use in traffic and transport will be realised mainly by measures decreasing the use of energy by cars. In technical properties of the car, the most effective measures are these which influence the use of energy regarding the transport motive "dwelling-social". Further research, also to the social acceptation of the measures, is stressed.
