Abstract

Some results of a mail survey designed to test procedures for collecting truck commodity data from a sample of truck registrants are presented. The first test showed that respondents to a mail questionnaire will yield data on commodity carried and on truck movement and that more than one mailing would be required to obtain a satisfactory rate. The present study tested both questionnaire design and follow-up procedures.
