Abstract

An advisory committee of the UK's Health and Safety Commission recently carried out a study of the major hazard risks from the transport of dangerous substances. A report on this study was published in November 1991 (IRRD 845339). The methodology and scope of this study are outlined. The results and main findings of the study in respect of transport of dangerous substances by road are presented and discussed. The implications for policy development are considered. (A)
