Abstract
The papers of the conference fall broadly into two groups. The first eight papers contain theoretical discussions and experimental studies of behaviour under stressful conditions aimed at understanding the underlying processes concerned. The following six papers are concerned with medical as well as psychiatric aspects of stress which have ergonomic implications for the design of work and of working as well as living conditions
