Abstract
As the technology of information systems has developed to a high standard, the time has come to optimize not only the different transportation means but also the cooperation between rail, individual traffic, public transport, trucks, ships and airplane. In the paper various examples for the improvements like rail/truck container transportation, city and suburban traffic as well as the influence of information and navigation systems are shown.
