Abstract

Several heritage bridges have been upgraded in recent years in north central Victoria in the context of increasing community demand for care and nurturing of the environment and cultural heritage issues. This paper discusses the challenges met in complying with legal requirements, contemporary government and state road authority policy, and sensitivity to local community and key stakeholder needs.
