Abstract

This paper provides an overview of a study dealing with the problem of truck overloads on Indonesia's toll roadway system. It was conducted under Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) funding between 1989 and 1991. Its scope was to determine the extent of truck overload problem, to evaluate its impact on pavements and traffic accidents as well as to examine the economic feasibility of an automated load enforcement system.
