The European Road Transport Research Advisory Council (ERTRAC) has released a report that provides an overview of road transport research programs in 17 European countries. The report highlights activities taking place in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. The report is based on information from ERTRAC members as well as from European Community initiatives. The report provides a description of each country, as well as information on its transport infrastructure, industry, and transport policy goals. For each country the report also includes information on transport research and innovative systems; a description of transportation research funding systems; and a summary of selected research, technology, and development programs undertaken in the last five years.
