Abstract

TRB’s Transportation Research Record: Journal of the Transportation Research Board, No. 2222 includes 13 papers that explore China’s port reform and development, optimization of capacity of ports, estimating coastal maritime risk, schedule design and container routing in liner shipping, port effectiveness, estimating truck queuing time at marine terminal gates, and truck delays at seaports. This issue of the TRR also explores integrated bay allocation and yard crane scheduling, energy inefficiency of marine transportation, measurement of the ecological and carbon footprint in port authorities, development of sobriety tests for the marine environment, hub-and-spoke networks to increase the scope of container-on-barge transport, and transportation rate analysis of waterborne trip movements on Gulf Intracoastal Waterway West.
