Abstract

This publication consists of 16 papers that explore mutually exclusive waterway project scheduling; off-loading capabilities at inland waterway terminals during sudden catastrophic closures; optimization models for liner ship fleet planning; implementation of port community systems; Panama Canal expansion impact on U.S. greenhouse gas emissions; energy consumption and emissions from ships; and economic impacts of sea level rise. This issue of the TRR also examines Vessel General Permit (VGP) challenges; drayage practices; automated guided vehicle dispatching practices for serving tandem lift quay cranes; cyclically visiting feeder scheduling in container trans-shipment hubs; terminal operations for roll-on–roll-off vessels; accidents in the Singapore Strait; safety risk assessments of China's maritime passages; risk assessments of marine crude oil transportation; and maritime transport in the developing world.
