Abstract

This discussion outlines the marketing process and identifies potential applications for transportation professionals. It is not intended to provide an in-depth explanation of marketing practices. Practitioners and academicians have spent years trying to understand and perfect marketing concepts. The purpose of this paper is to provide a thought-provoking discussion of how we can respond to the changing transportation environment using basic marketing ideas which have proven successful in other professions.
