Abstract

A few examples are described of the many types of advertising and promotional means that have been used by the marketing department of a transit system. A color-the-bus contest sponsored by the San Diego transit brought much free newspaper publicity. Other advertising campaigns included a reduced fare program for family tours on sunday. The celebration for receiving a grant for an office facility was well publicized.
