Abstract

The mass, volume, center of mass moment of inertia of the head and the head and neck were determined for 20 human male cadavers. Anthropometric values and anatomic landmarks were obtained by external measurements of X-ray procedures. The procedures used to determine these measurements are described. Uniform planes for the separation of the head and the neck from the torso and separation of the head from the neck were established and described in detail.
