Abstract

In this paper a mathematical framework using sample data has been developed towards determination of perception of accessibility by various income groups of people. A brief description of the concepts of fuzzy set theory has been made. The weights of various attributes of travel related to perception of accessibility were analysed with respect to different modes used by the commuters. A fuzzy set concept was finally applied for the development of accessibility norms for different income groups.
