Abstract

This report concerns improvements to the three dimensional, time dependent, field model jasmine (analysis of smoke movement in enclosures) to account for the effects of radiant heat transfer and of momentum and convective heat transfer to rough surfaces. Experimental fire tests conducted in a disused railway tunnel are used to examine the effect of these improvements embodied in a special purpose version of jasmine known as tunfire.
