Abstract

Mathematical statistics applied to traffic theory is presented. Though there exists no single difference regarding the principles, the mathematical statistics which are developed for traffic phenomena, including telecommunication, compared with the usual statistics, give a somewhat different idea. As an example is given the avoidance of negative values of almost all variables. This correlates with the special character of traffic phenomena and there on applied chance distributions.
