Abstract

An attempt to stimulate a debate on the measurement and meaning of social well being, is given. In stead of providing a comprehensive overview of the literature, or providing a solution, the paper sets out some pointers for discussion, and critically examines some transport oriented measures that currently serve as a proxy for identifying the role of transport in relation to social well being.
