Abstract

This paper discusses the limitations of existing test dummies in the measurement of neck injury risk during crash testing. It also discusses the computer modelling techniques available to simulate crash testing, compares the capabilities of a number of approaches, and describes computer models under development by Holden to allow improved analysis of neck injury risk.
