Abstract

The problem of determining values of the various inertial properties important to the analysis or simulation of vehicle dynamics is considered. Variables examined include: weights of the sprung and unsprung masses; center of gravity position of the sprung and unsprung masses; yaw, pitch and roll inertia of the sprung mass; yaw and roll inertia of the unsprung masses; and spin inertia of the rolling masses.
