Abstract

A simply applicable tyre model for quasi-stationary processes is presented. By means of simple analytical basic functions the dependency of the longitudinal force on the slip and the dependencies of the lateral force and the aligning torque on the slip angle for camber equal to zero are represented. To describe the influence of the camber a second analytic function, whose coefficients are functions of camber and slip, is used. Lateral force and aligning torque, that are functions of the slip angle, are formed by means of the basic function, that is valid for camber equal to zero, and an additional function in order to describe the influence of the camber. In this way it becomes in particular possible to possible to represent the behaviour of the aligning torque under combined variations of slip angle, camber and slip in an excellent fashion. This is shown by means of a comparison between measured and calculated curves. (A)
