Abstract

A project aimed at identifying and evaluating intersection improvements for pedestrian safety at urban intersections is presented. Two field studies and a series of field observations were conducted in order to identify measures and methods which could reliable yield information concerning potentially hazardous pedestrian behaviour at intersections. Both operational measures and conflict measures were investigated.
