Abstract

Experiments were performed with the British Klarcrete machine to determine its capability for removing the top layer of roadway to a depth of 1/8 to 1/4 in. and, in so doing, to expose a fresh surface of highly fractured coarse aggregate to give a better skid resistance. The equipment is described and the results are presented.
