This book covers the following topics: mechanical properties of truck tyres, modelling the truck tyre, the mechanical and kinematic properties of heavy vehicle suspensions, analysis and modelling of suspension systems, truck steering systems: geometry, mechanical properties and models, mechanics of curvilinear travel at zero speed, brakes and brake activation systems, thermal aspects of brakes, antilock systems and brake system modelling, truck frames, the utility of a driver model, truck ride response, turning of single and multi-unit trucks: findings derivable from a linear analysis, the cornering response of commercial vehicles in the non-linear regime, the braking process, and mechanics of the rollover process.
