Abstract

It is demonstrated that the kinetic energy produced when a weight of 5 1b is dropped through a distance of 1 foot is enough to produce a linear fracture of the skull. Within limits it can be predicted where a linear fracture is likely to occur. Intercranial damage can occur without skull fracture and vice versa.
