Abstract

In considering the progress of the patient from the time of impact to the time of discharge from medical care one phase stands out as being practically devoid of medical involvement; the time between the impact and the patient's arrival in hospital. A survey is given of the possibilities of first aid by skilled ambulance personnel to decrease the mortality.
