Abstract

Simulation calculations with the car ownership and car use simulation model developed by the NEI results in a growth towards 7 million cars in 2010. Despite the growth of the car use the total pollution will drop substantially due to the much stronger emission norm for the automobile industry as compared with 1981. To force a reduction in car mobility the variable car cost should rise substantially.
