Because of the current problem concerning the quality of life and accessibility the Dutch government intends to reduce the use of driving vehicles in the Netherlands. At the same time it is intended to stimulate bicycle and public transport use, wherever it is possible. In this report the role which the bicycle traffic safety can play in this respect is examined. In order to get more insight into this matter an investigation is carried out in two cities, namely Breda and Zwolle. The relationship between objective bicycle safety and the public transport is reported here because of the fact that both of them will be stimulated.
