Abstract
This paper gives an overview of a report about the capacity of the existing railway network. Port authorities ordered the OTB Research Institute for Policy Science and Research of the Delft University of Technology to investigate this matter. They urgently require extra rail capacity. It appears that many technological and organizational measures are available for this aim. These can only be supplemented when the rail company changes its policy. (A)
