Abstract

The Dutch governmental policy for the improvement of traffic safety during 1987-1991 with the aim to reduce the number of traffic victims with 25% is presented. The leaflet discusses the main items of the policy: the battle against drunken driving, enforcement of speed limits, improvement of the use of safety belts and crash helmets, the reconstruction of accident black spots, extra attention for the young unexperienced road users, and attention for the old people.
