In the time between 1 January 1968 and 31 March 1975, 346 moped riders killed in Denmark in road accidents were examined from the forensic medicine aspect. The files for each case were analysed primarily to evaluate the significance and value of the crash helmet. The human factors concerning such accidents are set out.
