Abstract

This method provides a basic nine-fold cost categorization, and uses statistical analysis of crew duties to determine how crew costs depend on the ratio of peak to off-peak hours worked. The cost of peak crew time is shown to be twice that of off-peak time. Weekend crew time is costed separately. Allocation of overheads and engineering costs is discussed, and examples are given.
