Abstract

Purpose of trafficable studies is to find the general relations which exist between the average travel speed of motor vehicles and the engineering design of roads under various traffic conditions. The first phase of these studies is to determine the effect produced by design features of the road on the above- mentioned speed at low values of the traffic flow. It is this first phase that is dealt with in the present paper.
