Abstract

The general issue of stimulating public transport and the bike and walking and reducing car-usage leads to the question on which spot or on which route a certain mode should have (more) priority. Each connection-technic, each mode, has its own characteristics. So, in the design of integrated traffic-infrastructure-networks, we try to find a reasonable balance between connection-wishes and technical possibilities, between profits and costs. The design will aim at an appropriate contribution of each different mode to an optimal total accessibility.
