Abstract

A generalized, non- linear population dynamics model of an ecosystem is used to study the direction of selective pressures upon a mutant by studying the competition between parent and mutant population. The method described is well suited for handling the high degree of complexity experienced in most ecosystems and may become a tool in the approach to certain evolutionary questions.
