Abstract

Existing methods that can be employed in a study of road accidents are reviewed and discussed in their relation to the amount of information derived from the application of the method, and the effectiveness of that method in the remedial situation. The use of a statistical quality control technique, together with a study of accident records is proposed as a more effective means of identifying the cause of accidents.
