Abstract

In my opinion calculating energy consumption values always depends on the .energy situation in which they are conceived and applied. For this reason, I wish to give you at first a rough outline of the energy situation prevailing in the Federal Republic of Germany, in particular, the energy situation in the consumer transportation sector, followed by an indication of generally applicable criteria which I consider necessary to an evaluation of energy consumption calculations in public transportation. Finally, I shall describe some of the procedures used in the Federal Republic and the method of their evaluation. (Author/publisher)
