Abstract

The Danish Road Directorate has initiated a project with the objective ofdeveloping a methodology to enable ex-ante assessment of benefits and costs of future planned traffic management systems; and to achieve a unified, comparable and consistent methodology. Furthermore the objective is to investigate possible impacts of traffic management systems since knowledge of impacts is a precondition for assessment and judgement of benefits. The method for pre-assessment of effects of traffic management systems is based on a general framework and guidelines for carrying out socio-economic evaluations of traditional transport projects developed by the Ministry of Transport.
