Abstract

Raised reflective pavement markers have proven very effective in guiding traffic at night and especially during inclement weather when painted or plastic lines tend to disappear under a film of water. After several years of development work, a system of raised reflective pavement markers was introduced for snow areas in the United States This system involves the use of an iron casting recessed into the pavement so that it projects above the surface about one centimeter.
