Abstract

One of the factors of vehicular accidents, the pavement surface is described and the work performed during the past 4 years by the Michigan Department of State Highways improving skid resistance of pavements is reported. A number of different types of materials and designs were used to produce skid-resistant surfaces at selected areas. A brief description is given of each.
