Abstract

Although considerable attention has been given to highly sophisticated techniques for traffic assignment at the level of regional networks and the level of intersections, queues and toll booths, these techniques have not proved serviceable for modelling intermediate activities like peak hour movement and airport traffic. A simulation model has been developed that permits analysis of areas up to 1000 city blocks in size. Detailed attention is given to delay at intersections for various traffic and signalization conditions.
