Abstract

This report describes a microcomputer program called lighting alternatives microcomputer program (Lamp- 11) which has been developed for the purpose of designing and evaluating roadway lighting systems. This program systematically calculates values for illuminance, luminance, and veiling luminance for a proposed roadway lighting system. Input parameters include the geometry of the roadway lighting system, candlepower arrays for the luminaire to be evaluated and pavement reflectance factors for the roadway of interest.
