Abstract

For each bottleneck in the infrastructure of the car a number of possible solutions is possible. Before a definitive selection is considered it is necessary to determine if the proposed solution is the real one. This can be done by computer simulations. The traffic behaviour in a certain region where the bottleneck is, is simulated and analysed by a mathematical model. This has to be done for the present road network and for the new road network in which the new connection is considered.
